This is a genuine Intuit retail copy of QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2021 in an opened DVD case. The shrink wrap is gone — that is the only difference between this and our sealed copy. The disc, the printed Quick Start Guide and the license & product number sticker are all present, and the activation code has never been redeemed.

What does “open box” mean here?
The retail case has been opened and photographed — the pictures on this page are of the item itself. The disc, guide, license number and activation code are untouched. If you want factory shrink wrap, buy our sealed copy instead; it is the same software for $100 more.
Is the activation code really unused?
Yes — it has never been registered. If it turned out otherwise it simply would not activate, and that is precisely what the full-refund guarantee above covers.
Will it stop working after a year?
No. A permanent license has no expiry date. Once activated, QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2021 keeps running on that PC for as long as Windows will run it.
Does it work on Windows 11?
In practice yes — it installs and runs on Windows 11. Formally, Intuit certified the 2021 release for Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 (64-bit), so Windows 11 is uncertified rather than blocked.
Can I add payroll later?
No. Intuit ended payroll for all 2021 versions on May 31, 2024 and there is no way to switch it back on. Run payroll elsewhere and post the journal entry in QuickBooks, or buy a current subscription.
Will it open my existing company file?
It opens company files from QuickBooks 2021 and earlier. A file that has already been upgraded by QuickBooks 2022 or newer cannot be opened by 2021 — that conversion only runs one way.
Can I move it to a new computer later?
Yes. Uninstall it from the old PC, then install it on the new one using the same license and product numbers. If activation needs a reset, email us and we will walk you through it.
How many computers can I install it on?
One license covers one user. Pro 2021 supports up to three users on a local network, but each of those users needs a license of their own.
Is it legal to resell this?
Yes. This is genuine retail product acquired through legitimate channels and resold under the first-sale doctrine. We are not Intuit and do not represent Intuit.
