About LicenseRetail
Founded by Ruth Perryman · Boulder, Colorado · Est. 2024
LicenseRetail helps small businesses own their software outright instead of renting it. We sell genuine QuickBooks Desktop, Microsoft Windows and AutoCAD licenses at below‑retail prices — no forced subscription, no annual renewal. Every key we list is a legitimate surplus license sourced from verified corporate liquidations here in the United States.
Our Story
I started LicenseRetail after watching small business owners pay hundreds of dollars every year in QuickBooks subscription fees for software they could — and should — own outright.
The turning point came in July 2024, when Intuit stopped selling QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus and Premier directly to new customers. Overnight, thousands of small businesses lost their go‑to affordable option for professional desktop accounting and were pushed toward cloud plans costing $1,000–$3,000 a year, whether they needed the cloud or not.
At the same time, corporations migrating to the cloud were sitting on thousands of perfectly valid, unused licenses. Under the first‑sale doctrine those licenses are fully legal to resell — and that is exactly what we do. LicenseRetail bridges the gap: we source genuine surplus licenses from verified corporate liquidations and pass them on to the businesses that need them, at a fraction of retail.
What began with QuickBooks Desktop has since grown. Today we also supply Microsoft Windows and AutoCAD licenses to the same audience — owner‑operators, bookkeepers, accounting firms and small IT teams who would rather buy once than rent forever.

How We Are Different From Other Resellers
Plenty of sellers online push invalid, stolen or duplicated keys. We are not one of them, and here is how you can tell:
- Every license is sourced from a verified US‑based corporate liquidation, with a full paper trail.
- Keys are verified with the publisher before we list them for sale.
- We explain the “Licensed To” registration detail up front, so there are no surprises after purchase.
- Our Activation Guarantee means you are never stuck with a key that does not work.
- We publish our full legal reasoning — read How Our Licensing Works before you spend a dollar.
- Need help choosing? Talk to our support team first — we would rather lose a sale than sell you the wrong edition.
